Welcome to "The Downtown Bothy"! The term, bothy, is Scottish for a small hut or cottage.
Why pay for a hotel room when you can stay at this lovely pet friendly home in a great location. This 2 bedroom 2 full bathroom home is in a prime location within walking distance to downtown West Jefferson. West Jefferson offers some great local restaurants, Ashe County Cheese Factory, shopping, the Farmer's Market, and more.
This recently renovated home offers one level living with 2 bedrooms (one with a queen size bed and the other has a full size bed), 2 full bathrooms, each bedroom has their own TV, comfortable living room with cozy gas fireplace, beautiful kitchen, and a spacious dining room. The kitchen is fully stocked with most everything you need to prepare your favorite meal. Step outside on our large and open deck to enjoy outdoor grilling on our gas grill.
The Downtown Bothy is a perfect way to spend quality time with the family and friends. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Riverside Canoe Rentals or Zaloos Canoes. Hiking is just a very short drive away at 2 of our state parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you like horseback riding, Burnt Hill Stables is about a 15 minute drive away and is a great place for making memories. You can also walk downtown to visit our local Ashe Chamber of Commerce which offers a wealth of information about our beautiful area.
At The Downtown Bothy, we believe that nobody should be left behind. We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member under 40 pounds for a onetime nonrefundable pet fee for $50 (plus tax) per pet. For pets weighing over 41 pounds, the pet fee is $75 (plus tax) per pet. These pet fees do NOT cover excessive pet hair or damages caused by your pet. Isn't it wonderful that for once, you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing back home.
2 night minimum for off peak and off season
3 night minimum for some holidays and the entire month of October (leaf season)
4 night minimum for Thanksgiving
7 night minimum for the Christmas/New Year holidays
NO SMOKING is allowed in our rentals.
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow, ice, and some foggy days along with occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which could be icy and slick in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and/or tire chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO REFUNDS, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
