Bear Retreat at New River Inn is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin with Wi-Fi, Fire Pit, and more.
We are located in picturesque Glendale Springs and next to the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 7.3 miles from the town of Jefferson, NC. You’re within minutes to the Church of the Frescoes, Blue Ridge Dinner Theater, Zaloo’s Canoes, and more. The towns of Jefferson and West Jefferson are about a 15 minute drive from us and Boone is about a 35 minute drive away. Blowing Rock is approximately a 45 minute scenic drive from our cabin. The world famous MerleFest is within a 35-40 minute drive into Wilkesboro, NC.
MAIN FLOOR: The open floor plan offers a fully functional kitchen, living room with stone gas fireplace (seasonal) and flat screen HDTV. The master bedroom with king size bed has an En Suite full bathroom.
UPPER FLOOR: There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the upper level. One private bedroom with a queen bed and one bedroom with 2 queen size beds. There is also a full bathroom on this floor as well.
OUTSIDE: You will enjoy spending quality time outside on our deck with a gas grill and nice mountain views and overlooking the community pond. Our guests will also enjoy the outside wood burning fire pit (wood not provided).
Well behaved pets are considered with management approval with a one time pet fee of $75 per pet (plus tax). Dogs must be kept on a leash while on the property for safety reasons.
New River Inn and Cabins is great place for large gatherings, corporate retreats, weddings, family reunions, and more. New River Inn and Cabins offers a 16 room motel and 3 log cabins, community pond, situated on over 10 beautiful acres, just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Northwest Trading Post. New River Inn and Cabins also offers a “Lodge” for our guests that offers a pool table, meeting area, gas fireplace, small kitchen, large sectional sofa, and a play room for the children with games (open during normal business hours).
2 night minimum for off peak season (sorry, NO 1 night rentals permitted)
2 NIGHT MINIMUM DURING THE JULY 4th HOLIDAY!!
3 night minimum for some holidays and the month of October
4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday (Wednesday – Sunday)
7 night minimum Christmas/New Year holidays

As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive/AWD, good tires and chains may be necessary. It is YOUR responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO REFUNDS, allowances or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
