WELCOME TO BAREFOOT CABIN!!
Banner Elk is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in western North Carolina. It is 20 minutes away from Boone, and is surrounded by the towns of Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Seven Devils and Hawk's Nest. There is a wide range restaurants and bars in town. And just a few minutes away there are ski resorts, golf clubs, hiking trails, campgrounds and other possibilities for outdoor fun.
Barefoot Cabin is a large 5 bedroom cabin with 3.5 bathrooms. You will have plenty of space in this 2400 sq. ft. cabin that sleeps up to a maximum of 12 guests.
The modern kitchen is fully stocked for you to make a fantastic family meal, including a food processor, blender, and all of the other common items you may find in a kitchen. There is seating for 8 at the dining room table and 4 bar stools at the bar for additional seating.
The living room has a cozy wood burning fireplace to enjoy on those cold mountain winter nights. Enjoy your favorite show on the 42" flat screen TV.
We offer a remarkable California king size bed on the main level with En Suite bathroom and HDTV Satellite TV .
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom is for the kids with 2 bunk beds and TV with VCR and kid friendly movies. The 3rd bedroom offers a lush queen size bed with HDTV Satellite TV.
Enjoy a game of billiards in the loft or sit down and play a competitive game of checkers.
There is additional sleeping on the lower level with another queen size bedroom with a gas cozy gas fireplace and Satellite TV. The fifth bedroom has yet another queen size bed!
Family memories are waiting to be had around our massive fire pit!! Life just doesn't get any better than this!
Enjoy the warmer summer months out on one of two covered decks. The upper deck has several rocking chairs and a picnic table along with a handcrafted log porch swing. The lower deck has a table with 4 chairs.
In the winter Banner Elk is where people come to choose and cut their own Christmas tree and ski, and in the summer it is a perfect place for a family getaway which can be quiet, peaceful, and relaxing or full of activity, fun, and adventure. Blue Ridge parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Linville Gorge are just a few of the scenic landmarks in the area. The attractions that are worth visiting are the Woolly Worm Festival that takes place in Banner Elk in October, and the summer theater, by the Lees-McRae College Performing Arts department.
This is a Non-Smoking and Non-Pet friendly home.
There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday and a 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.
As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
